About me
Painting fills my heart with joy. It satisfies and inspires me, it challenges me, drives me to the brink of despair, and takes me to soaring highs.
I like walking through the world with my eyes open. I like to explore new places, and some I revisit frequently. On my trips I make sketches and photos for reference. I paint moods and landscapes - all the places where I want to be. When painting, I love to get lost in memories and nostalgia!
I see beauty everywhere, in nature, in architecture, in the mundane and inconspicuous; it's always about the interplay of colours, of light and shadow. Our planet is a fantastic place to paint.
In my paintings I want to express what touched and enchanted me about a subject. I try to translate my enthusiasm / reaction / emotion into colours. Capture a moment in which you want to linger.
Born in Switzerland in 1967, I grew up with a large box of Caran d’Ache Prismalo and Gouache, a lot of paper and joy in drawing and painting. I have always been intrigued by Impressionist painting. I like the loose brushwork and the bright colour palette.
After taking a back seat for a while, painting has become an essential part of my everyday life. Through continuous self-study, with workshops and practise, failure and more practise I keep moving forward on my journey.
My sincere and everlasting thanks go to all of the wonderful artists who have taught me and continue to teach me. ART.FILLS.The HEART.
